You’ll find many St Paddy’s Day recipes for stews, green beer, cocktails and cakes all over the world, so let’s celebrate this traditionally Irish day, with a little local twist.

Are you thinking of getting the regular fires going this weekend? Introduce St Patrick’s Day to your usual braai on Saturday 17 March, with these fun and festive add-ons.

Instead of the usual bowl of chips that does the pre-dinner rounds, try some Leprechaun Popcorn. Simply add some wasabi peanuts and twisted knot pretzels to a bowl of popcorn, for a unique St Paddy’s Day snack.

Potato salad is always a big hit at the braai. Add a taste of the Emerald Isle to yours, with some softly cooked and finely chopped cabbage, spring onions and bacon bits.

For dessert, a rainbow shaped fruit platter, ending with a pot of melted chocolate on either end, will be a nice finishing touch to your St Patrick’s Day inspired braai.
