#OKWomenYouCanCountOn featuring Celeste Bothma

Newsroom | 2020-08-17

Celeste Bothma is the proud owner of OK Foods Winburg, and one of the strong women on our OK team. Celeste’s advice to young women who have their sights set on a career in retail is to remember that it’s a man’s world, but just be yourself and keep your eyes on your creator. We asked her to share a few of her words of wisdom and tell us how she is making a difference in her community.

Who has been a strong female role model to you?

My mother.

Best business advice you’ve been given?

Never sell “sorry”.

How are you trying to make a difference in the lives of the people in your community?

We support any event throughout the year, but our biggest focus is during Christmas. We give out Christmas hampers to families in need. Our staff are involved in helping to identify the families and handing the hampers out. Last year we gave out 200, this year we hope for more.

Do you have a charity/special cause that is close to your heart?

We have around 25 children that we provide food for on a daily basis. Before the lockdown we had a full-time lady who helped with homework and kept them busy during holidays.
