The Hot Toddy
If your soul (and your throat) could use a little love on one of those chilly winter days, ready the kettle and mix up a Hot Toddy. It comes together pretty quickly — the hardest part is boiling the water! Our recipe calls for Bain’s Whisky, lemon juice and honey. That's it, although you can garnish your drink with a lemon round and a cinnamon stick if you want to be fancy. Cheers to cosy drinks keeping us warm this winter!
1 | In a teapot or saucepan, bring the water to a simmer. |
2 | Pour the hot water into a mug. |
3 | Add the Bain’s Whisky, honey and lemon juice. |
4 | Stir until the honey has disappeared into the hot water. |
5 | Taste, and add 1 teaspoon honey for more sweetness, and/or 1 teaspoon more lemon juice for more zing. |
6 | Garnish with a lemon round and cinnamon stick. |
7 | Cheers! |
Pro-tip:
Alcohol doesn’t mix well with over the counter and prescription medications. So, no hot toddies for you if you’re taking medicine! Nurse yourself back to health with everything but the whisky.
