The Manhattan
When it comes to cocktails, the Manhattan is like the little black dress: a timeless classic. The Manhattan only has three ingredients, but there’s so much going on in just one sip! Hints of oak come from the whiskey, sweet and spicy notes from the vermouth, and an herbal nuance from the bitters. If you want to try a truly classic whiskey cocktail, this is the drink for you.
1 | Fill a glass with ice and let it chill while you make the Manhattan. |
2 | Add whiskey, sweet vermouth and bitters to a pitcher with a few ice cubes. |
3 | Stir and then strain mixture into the chilled glass. |
4 | Top it off with lemonGarnish with maraschino cherry and orange twirl. -lime soda. |
5 | Cheers! |
Pro-tip:
A Manhattan must be stirred, not shaken. While shaking gets the drink cold — it leaves the cocktail a cloudy mess. The best method is to stir the drink with a spoon, for at least 20 to 25 rotations.
