The Winter G&T

The classic combo of gin, lime, and tonic water transitions to the colder seasons with ease in our Winter G&T! We’ve given the traditional gin and tonic a simple but seasonal twist with homemade spiced simple syrup infused with cold-weather flavours like whole cloves, allspice, cola, and cinnamon sticks. Simply add Tanqueray Gin, ice, tonic water, orange juice, an orange slice, and edible flowers for the perfect cold-weather cocktail. This is a unique and flavourful drink that is sure to impress your guests and leave them wanting more.

60ml Tanqueray Gin
60ml Orange juice 
  Tonic water, to top up 
20ml Spiced simple syrup *
  Orange slice, for garnish
  Edible flowers, for garnish
  Ice

 

*Spiced simple syrup ingredients:

 

1 cup Sugar
1 cup Water
½ cup Cola
1 tsp Whole allspice 
1 tsp Whole cloves 
2 Cinnamon sticks

1 In a small saucepan over medium heat, bring sugar, whole allspice, whole cloves, cinnamon sticks, cola, and water to a simmer.  
2 Reduce heat to medium-low and cook, stirring often, until the sugar has dissolved — about 5 minutes.  
3 Transfer to a small bowl, refrigerate until chilled, and strain.
4 Fill glass with ice.
5 Add Tanqueray Gin, orange juice, and spiced simple syrup.
6 Top up with tonic water and stir gently to mix ingredients together.
7 Garnish with edible flowers and orange slice.

Pro-tip:

The key to achieving a great depth of flavour in your spiced simple syrup is to allow it to cool before straining out solids. The cooling allows the spices to infuse for longer without any water cooking off.
