Competition Terms and Conditions

Promoter:

The promoter of the Competition is OK Franchise, a division of Shoprite Checkers (Pty) Limited, Registration Number: 1929/001817/07, exclusively through its participating OK Liquor branded stores (hereinafter the “Promoter”).

Terms and conditions of the KWV competition (“Competition”):

  1. 1.   This Competition is open to all South African residents of 18 years and older, residing in South Africa, who are in possession of a valid identity document, passport or other documentary proof of South African residency. Any director, member, franchisee, partner, employee, agent or consultant of the Promoter, the marketing service providers, suppliers, distributors or any person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by these entities, including their spouses, life partners, business partners or immediate family members may not enter or participate in the Competition and will be disqualified from receiving a Prize.

  2. 2.   The Competition will only run from 3 November 2025 to 14 December 2025 (“Campaign Period”). Any entries received outside the Campaign Period will not be considered.

  3. 3.   To enter the Competition, participants must, during the Campaign Period:
    1. 3.1   Purchase and swipe your OK Count On! Card, in a single transaction, any of the participating products (“Annexure A - Participating Products”) listed below from any OK Liquor (“Annexure B - Participating Stores”) in South Africa, during the Campaign Period. A list of the Participating Products and Participating Stores will also be available on www.okfoods.co.za and
    2. 3.2   Participants will automatically be entered into the competition when they swipe their OK Count On! Card when purchasing any 2 (two) participating products during the Campaign Period. An automated SMS will be sent once to confirm the first automatic entry. No additional SMS confirmations will be sent for subsequent entries during the Campaign Period.
    3. 3.3   Participants may also enter the Competition via SMS using their unique token number found on their till slip to 41534. Alternatively, enter via USSD, by dialling the following number: *120*816* {unique token} during the Competition Period. An automated SMS will be sent to confirm the entry, standard SMS network rates do apply.
    4. 3.4   Participants must keep their till slip as proof of purchase and ensure that their correct contact details are linked to their OK Count On! Profile as this will be a required document for verification steps in clause 7 below.

  4. 4.   There will be 6 (six) winners in total:
    1. 4.1   2 (Two) winners will each win 1 (one) 23L KWV Cooler Box (“Cooler Prize”), to the value of R3 000 (Three Thousand Rand).
    2. 4.2   4 (Four) winners will each win 1 (one) 5L KWV 5-Year-Old (“Bottle Prize”), to the value of R1 800 (One Thousand Eight Hundred Rand).

  5. 5.   The 6 (six) preliminary winners will be randomly drawn on 15 December 2025, from qualifying entries received during the Campaign period.

  6. 6.   The Promoter’s representative, a business known as Prize Vouchers, will contact the preliminary winners within 72 (seventy-two) hours of each draw, to request relevant information needed to verify if the preliminary winners are eligible to receive a Prize.

  7. 7.   Preliminary Winners will be required to sign and return to the Promoters or its representative, within 5 (five) working days of the date of the confirmation by the Promoter, a Prize Acknowledgement and Indemnity form (“Declaration”), valid form of identification (RSA Identity Document or Passport), a lawful residency permit or proof of current address, not older than 3 (three) months and a copy of their Count On! Card, only applicable to Loyalty Card Holders, to claim their “Cooler Prize” or “Bottle Prize”.

  8. 8.   If a preliminary winner does not provide the Promoter with all requested information within 72 (seventy-two) hours after being requested to do so, they will be disqualified from winning a Prize and a new preliminary winner will be drawn in their place.

  9. 9.   The Promoter will contact the verified winners directly to arrange the details of when and at which OK Liquor store the winners must collect their Prizes. Winners must provide their valid proof of identification when they collect their Prizes. If a winner does not collect their Prize within 2 (two) weeks after request, their Prize will be deemed forfeited and a new winner will be drawn.

  10. 10.   Participants understand and agree that there is no guarantee that they will win a Prize.

  11. 11.   Each verified winner will only be entitled to win and receive one of the Prizes.

  12. 12.   The details of the Prizes will be entirely at the Promoter’s discretion – the winners will not be entitled to choose their Prize.

  13. 13.   By entering this Competition and as a condition to receive a Prize, participants:
    1. 13.1   Consent to the processing of their personal information by the Promoter and its service providers, insofar that it is necessary to give effect to the Competition, for example to view the entries, select and announce the winners publicly and arrange collection or delivery of the Prizes. Winners will be given the opportunity to consent to further processing of their personal information;
    2. 13.2   If requested to do so, sign an acknowledgment of receipt form and provide all relevant information requested by the Promoter’s representatives, including but not limited to the winners’ full names, and where applicable their ID numbers, contact details and delivery address;
    3. 13.3   Consent that their names be announced publicly by the Promoter on any platform that it deems fit, including but not limited to its social media pages;
    4. 13.4   Waive their moral rights and grant the Promoter exclusive, unlimited, perpetual and free of charge copyright and usage (in any territory where these entities trade), in all media forms of all material, text and intellectual property created and/or published/posted by the participants in the submission of their Competition entry. The Promoter will be entitled to use and edit the intellectual property in any manner and in its sole discretion, for an indefinite period of time and in any territory where it trades. Participants will not during or after the closing date of the Competition dispute or question such copyright and usage; and
    5. 13.5   Waive any right to demand royalties, usage fees or any other form of compensation or payment for the use of intellectual property in the participant’s entry.

  14. 14.   Neither the Promoter nor its agents or suppliers will be liable for the failure of any technical element relating to this Competition that may result in an entry not being successfully submitted, or for entries that are lost, incomplete or delayed.

  15. 15.   The winners will not be entitled to payment, credit or to receive other items in the event that they do not want the Prize. Any unwanted Prize will be deemed waived by the winners. Prizes are not transferable, and may not be deferred or exchanged for cash, credit or other items.

  16. 16.   The Prizes are non-returnable, and the Promoter will not be liable for any product malfunction, defect or manufacturing faults, damage or loss of the Prize.

  17. 17.   17. The Promoter in its sole discretion is entitled to disqualify any winner:
    1. 17.1   Who has won a prize in a competition conducted by the Promoter during the last 3 months before the winners of this Competition is drawn; or
    2. 17.2   Who at any time does not act in accordance with the spirit of the Competition, or if fraud or cheating is suspected, including without limitation, through the manipulation of code or falsifying of data.
    3. 17.3   Who is deceased at the time of verification as stated in clause 6. In such a case, the prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternative eligible winner drawn in accordance with clause 8. No claims may be made by the deceased's estate, family, or representatives.

  18. 18.   No entries from companies, agents, third parties, organised groups or entries automatically generated by computer will be accepted. No incomplete or corrupted entries will be accepted. Entries will only be accepted if they comply with all entry instructions.

  19. 19.   The Promoter is entitled to change or terminate the Competition and/or Prizes immediately and without notice, if deemed necessary in its sole discretion. In the event of such change or termination, participants agree to waive any rights that they have in respect of this Competition and acknowledge that they will have no recourse against the Promoter, its suppliers or agents.

  20. 20.   If any Prize is not available despite the Promoter’s reasonable efforts to procure the Prize, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute it with another Prize of a similar value.

  21. 21.   Neither the Promoter, nor its agents, service providers, suppliers, associated companies, nor any directors, representatives or their employees will be liable for any loss or damage, whether direct, indirect, consequential or otherwise arising from any cause whatsoever related to the Competition or Prizes, which may be suffered by the participant or anyone else.

  22. 22.   The Promoter’s decision regarding the winners is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

  23. 23.   Participation in this Competition is regarded as an acceptance of, and an agreement to comply with these Terms and Conditions.

  25. 25.   This Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with any social media channel.
