Feeling Fancy Flapjacks

Fancy making a flapjack that's just a touch different? These heart-shaped flapjacks are both easy to make and flipping lekker.

1 Cup All-purpose flour (or any)
1 Tsp. Baking powder
½ Tsp. Bicarbonate soda
1 Tsp. OK Housebrand sugar
Pinch of OK Housebrand salt
1 Medium/large egg
1 Tsp. Vanilla essence
1 Cup Buttermilk (or any milk)


  1. Make a heart-shaped mould from cardboard and tin foil. Combine flour, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda, sugar, egg, vanilla essence and buttermilk or milk in a large mixing bowl. Whisk until smooth. Spray the pan and the inside of the mould with non-stick spray. Place the mould in the centre of the pan and pour the batter into it.

  2. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes. Carefully remove the mould and flip. Cook for another 1 to 2 minutes. Garnish to taste. Voila!
